Are you often inundated with pop-up windows? Many people that receive these pop-ups think that it is simply a byproduct of surfing the Internet. Don’t be too quick to dismiss these intrusive windows as being a regular occurrence. Often, pop-up windows are a sign that you may be dealing with spyware. These malicious little programs run in the background and install themselves without our knowledge. They have two different purposes. First, they monitor our computer in order to deliver ads to us in the form of pop-up windows and by stealing and hijacking our Internet browser. Second, they are aware of everything that we type so they can monitor e-mails, chat room sessions and even steal our credit card numbers and passwords.
